Veeam разьяснила изменения в политике лицензирования Veeam в 2021 году
Изменения в лицензировании Veeam вступили в силу 1 января 2021 года.
В информации об изменении было сказано: «Такие заказчики по-прежнему могут приобрести дополнительные лицензии по количеству сокетов любой редакции (Standard, Enterprise или Enterprise Plus) с любым уровнем поддержки».
Veeam пояснила, что приобрести дополнительные лицензии по количеству сокетов для Veeam Backup & Replication и (или) Veeam Availability Suite можно только в той же редакции и с тем же уровнем поддержки, что и уже существующие лицензии, в противном случае по умолчанию приобретается лицензия редакции Enterprise Plus с уровнем поддержки Production (24/7).
Veeam Licensing Policy updates effective Jan. 1, 2021
Based on feedback from distributors, partners and customers, Veeam® is introducing several important changes to the licensing of its products.
Veeam Universal Licenses In 2021, Veeam will continue leveraging Veeam Universal Licenses (VULs) for new customers for Veeam Backup & Replication™ (VBR), Veeam Availability Suite™ (VAS) and Veeam Backup Essentials™. In order to benefit partners and customers, the objective is to lead with VUL Subscription and use VUL Perpetual as an alternative for those preferring CapEx transactions. We have also optimized our per socket licensing model for simplification. This shift to selling subscriptions offers many benefits for Value Added Resellers, including:
• Meeting customer demand: Preference, budget and compliance needs
• Increasing annual recurring revenue: Lock in durable, recurring revenue with each customer
• Staying relevant: Subscription will eclipse perpetual models
• Competitive advantage: Offer more for less
• Additional revenue stream: Migrate and upsell existing customers
Veeam socket licenses On Jan. 1, 2021, Veeam will discontinue the sale of Standard and Enterprise edition per socket licenses of AND Basic Support for both Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam Availability Suite products to all net-new and non-socket customers. Enterprise Plus edition with Production (24/7) support level will be the only per socket option for new customers. Existing socket customers will be unaffected and can continue using and renewing their current products, editions and support. If the customer wishes to buy any product or edition they do not currently own for Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam Availability Suite products, they will be required to purchase Enterprise Plus with Production (24/7) support.
